A Case of Mediastinal Cystic Hygroma

Abstract
|
|
|
A case of mediastinal cystic hygroma was reported. The patient was a 39 year old Korean male soldier
who complained of left chest pain and severe dyspnea.
Chest X-ray showed a large mass density without calcification in the left chest. On physical examination,
distance breathing sound was heard in the left chest field and otherwise were within normal limits.
Operation was done under the impression of a benign cyst of mediastinum. A solitary large cystic
mass containing serosanguinous fluid about 1.6 liter at the anteromiddle mediastinum was noted.
Microscopic examination revealed a mediastinal cystic hygroma.
